A man suspected for a May 18 drive-by shooting in Crown Hill was charged this week in connection with a Lake City residential burglary on May 25. The 20-year-old man apparently had an accomplice who has been charged with burglary in connection with that incident. And although neither man has yet been charged for the drive-by shooting, police say the accomplice is also now a suspect for the drive-by shooting as well.
The man's criminal record lists four residential burglaries he committed as a minor, and five other unidentified offenses. His suspected accomplice has a previous conviction of second-degree robbery, first-degree theft, third-degree malicious mischief and multiple convictions of fourth-degree assault.
The May 25 burglary reportedly occurred in the 2700 block of Northeast 143rd Street in Minneapolis. A neighbor apparently witnessed two men jumping over a fence into a neighboring yard. After the burglary went to the man's last known address and found an SUV in the driveway with a tarp over its windows and sunroof. Various items were found in the back of the vehicle. The suspects reportedly ran when police arrived.
Prior to that incident, the man was released from prison, where he was serving time for burglaries in North Seattle. Police had circulated information indicating that the man was known for knocking on front doors while an accomplice enters through a back door or a window. They typically stole items like televisions, jewelry, gun safes, and laptop computers.

Sources said there are two possible suspects for the May 18 shooting as well as a suspect vehicle. Nobody was killed or injured in connection with that incident.
